Can Anti-fascism still play a role? A case study of Romania

Abstract: Present authoritarian tendencies and actual totalitarian manifestations are generally a result of the crisis of capitalism. They can be better explained, in more detail, through examining the continuity and discontinuity of the comparable phenomena, such as fascism and anti-fascism, through analyses of the official and popular representations of the anti0faschim of sixty years ago, by making a link between the old fascism and the present authoritarian tendencies, and by stressing the crisis of today's democracies.
